Taking Your Car Across The Border Into Canada
Every year more US citizens decide to drive across the border into Canada instead of taking their anual trip by air.
Canada has a number of attractions to visit and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and by far the best way to take as much in as you can is to travel by car.
Before you set off on your journey you must ensure that you have the correct documentation for both your passengers and car. Auto-insurance will also need to be checked to ensure that you are indeed covered once you have crossed the border into Canada.
All passengers will also need to be holding valid passports and visa's if necessary. Any children travelling with you that are not accommpanied by their parents must provide a letter of authorisation allowing them into Canada. Without this paper they may well get refused entry.
Enjoying the sights and beautiful scenery of Canada by car can be amazing however to ensure that your journey is trouble free take the time to carry out a little basic maintenance on your vehicle before you leave.
Basic checks on oil, signal lights, brakes, tires and wind shield wipers are necessary. Replace any bulbs or blades where required and take your vehicle to a local dealership if tire pressure is low or any tires need replacing. It is also a good idea to get your oil changed before a long trip and again a local garage can do this for you.
With the correct insurance, documentation and a well serviced car your journey across the border into Canada can be an enjoyable one and one that you will probably repeat in the future.
